Is there an app that switches to a screen on a computer when motion is detected (through a camera)?

I saw a video where a guy had a motion sensor (laser?) on his Raspberry Pi, which switched to a certain screen every time someone walked by it. I was wondering if there was a similar app for that for an Android device or even PCs/Macs, as I know many people *cough* including me *cough* will slightly benefit from it.
