How does IOS know that you're connecting to an IOS hotspot?

Hi,

Maybe somebody here could answer my question; Whenever you setup a hotspot on IOS and connect to it from an IOS device it shows a different icon than if it were an android hotspot, does anybody know why this is? I know they probably inject a few bytes into the broadcast packet of the hotspot but i'm not sure and just want a legit real answer.
